You ever think about how the reason Smith-Jiang siblings didn't end up like Morro because they had each-other AND Lloyd?

The green gi was what both Kai and Morro wanted but Kai spent his whole life working to take care of himself and Nya.That idea of protecting another is at the core of his being and what made him different from Morro, who had noone and so,had no reason to think of anyone but himself and not disappointing Wu.

And when denied the gi,it's Lloyd's mere existence and Kai's directive to protect that let them escape a fiery death Morro couldn't avoid. Where Kai accepted destiny Morro did not and both went aflame:one becoming a force that would be the light to guide, a protector and other reduced to ashes. Where Kai changed, Morro did not.

And Nya.There are so many similarities between Wojira duo,they could be the two sides of the same coin and even their elements are connected. Both hard-working prodigies(and the only two people Wu considered for the role of the green ninja), both want to be able to choose their destinies, both denied what they wanted and worked hard for, both fueled by their anger. But Morro never really got the chance to learn to deal with his emotions in a healthy way. Meanwhile Nya had to be strong to support her brother. At 3 years old she had to grow up and it isn't a coincidence that Nya's role as the one who helped Kai recover from their parents' loss is mentioned in season 5(twice even). She also had people she loved and the primary reason she had to become a ninja was because Lloyd,her younger brother was taken(unrelated detail I'd like to point out is that out of the whole team RGB siblings are the only ones who didn't have much of a choice in becoming ninja and didn't want to in the first place).

When faced with failure both lashed-out and while Nya learned a lesson that helped her unlock her true potential, it was the same truth Morro didn't want to accept. Nya became the tidal wave that brought his doom. Morro lost everything where Nya gained and it isn't just in s5:

Where Morro couldn't accept another being the green ninja and hurt Lloyd, Nya passed on her mantle as Samurai X and gained a friend,and that mantle was what helped Pixal.

Where both were offered the green gi, Nya was content with what she had where Morro wanted more and didn't stop.

When both were finally given the chance to choose(terrible options but still their choice) they both chose to let go and let the ocean take them,chose to accept their destiny. And where Morro dissolved, Nya became everything:the sea,a literal goddess with the power to rival Wojira.

And their elements! Both water and wind come from Wojira, both embody change and are dual in nature. Where Nya could switch between tsunamis and gentle rain, Morro could only cause hurricanes. Where Nya eventually embraced change and unlocked her true potential, Morro never did and was stuck as a cursed spirit,opposite of change. Where Nya mastered her element to the point of becoming one with it, Morro could only cling for so long before the wind moved on. Where Nya's tidal wave was powerful enough to kill a realm and a whole army of ghosts, Morro's wind wasn't strong enough against Preeminent's pull
